The study found 21 per cent of adults aged over 60 reported potentially clinically meaningful levels of depressive symptoms, which was “worryingly” twice the rate of depression recorded in similar surveys prior to Covid-19.
“Given that individuals with lowest levels of life satisfaction are also more likely to report higher levels of stress and anxiety and have depressive symptoms, public health should also consider the longer-term impact of the Covid-19 pandemic,” the study said.
It's not the virus that has done this but the government's restrictions, there's a lot more than that who are depressed and suffering with mental health, the gov know this but they simply don't care, suicide is also way up.
Who “studies” it? U just need to go around ur neighbourhood and see that people of ALL ages including young children, teenagers, YA are depressed and the problem with these 3 groups of people is that they’re committing suicide, harming themselves, causing long lasting illness
This country is going to have massive health problems come the future but the government bury there head in the sand about it and will never address it suicide is on to a whole new level
I’m surprised the number is so low
Wether one would class it depression...but literally everyone I know has been struggling especially this time round...from 8 to 92..some definitely depressed, some in quiet desperation, most with varying degrees of head fekkage 🤯
Surely that figure is higher?
I wouldn't think those figures are reserved for the over 60's.
Well had the clowns in government got it right the first time we wouldn’t have these issues!
