Last month Minister for Integration Roderic O’Gorman met ambassador Gerasko Larysa to discuss arrangements for refugees during what was expected to be a “very challenging period” for sourcing accommodation up to January 13th.
While data shows the numbers seeking refuge in Ireland continued to rise in the days immediately following this, they have dropped considerably since.A further 1,181 refugees were recorded for the following week. Amid continuing intense pressure on Ireland’s system for accommodating refugees the Government is not assuming the fall in numbers in recent days is part of a trend.
In total more than 70,300 people from Ukraine have been granted temporary protection in Ireland since the Russia invasion last February. The Department of Justice said there are no routine exit checks on people leaving the State so it is not possible to say how many beneficiaries of temporary protection have since left Ireland to return to Ukraine.
On Wednesday The Irish Times reported that the State is facing a shortfall of more than 14,000 beds for refugees before the end of March.

I've seen alot of very well off Ukrainian people here lately, big flash cars and not short of a few quid.. So I'm guessing it was only the well off could afford to leave the war torn country and the poor had to stay behind.. Also, why, aren't the men staying behind to fight 🤔
Why do they come here? Who pays fares? Why don't they stay and fight for their own country like many millions of fellow citizens.
We took in a lodger back in February, was coming from Poland to work, turns out he was a 35yr Ukrainian, he was extremely aggressive, dirty, loud, on phone loudspeaker throughout the house, 1-2am no issues, kicked our dog2 time, cooking constantly, leaving unattended oil, etc

It had absolutely nothing 2 do with the Ambassador's comments & all 2 do with Social media chatter were they were literally discussing the fact the 🇮🇪 Gravy Train had reached it's destination. Very Telling however, the still,very Generous Financial supports attracting many here.
Any Ukrainians that travelled home for the Christmas holidays should have all welfare benefits and free housing withdrawn.
Maybe now ask the Romanian, Eritrean, Somalian, etc ambassadors for similar statements?
