Phase 2 of the easing of coronavirus restrictions is expected to begin on 8 June

The National Public Health Emergency Team will meet today to finalise the advice it will give to Government ahead of the proposed easing of Covid-19 restrictions from next Monday.The final decision on easing restrictions rests with Government and it takes advice from NPHET.

However, he added that the third week of each stage is the crucial one and it is important to wait until the end of this week before making a decision. Validation of figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre have led to the denotification of two deaths, and two confirmed cases.
