The Stormont Executive has decided to keep the current restrictions in place until 1 April. They had been due to lapse on 5 March.

Only vulnerable children and those of key workers have been in classrooms since January. It is understood P1-P3 pupils will revert to remote learning for a week on that date - for the week prior to the Easter holidays - to minimise the impact on infection rates of years 12-14 returning.

From 8 March, click and collect will be permitted for shops selling baby equipment, clothing and footwear, and electrical goods. Mrs Foster also said the executive would publish a "decision making framework" for the Executive's exit from lockdown strategy on 1 March. Since Christmas, people in Northern Ireland have only been able to leave home for essential purposes such as work or exercise.

Face coverings in shops and on public transport may be needed well into the future, he warned, and some limited restrictions may be in place long-term.

Unionists to mount legal challenge to NI ProtocolThe DUP and other unionists are to mount a legal challenge to the Northern Ireland protocol, challenging its 'compatibility with Act of Union 1800, the Northern Ireland Act of 1998 and the Belfast Agreement', DUP leader Arlene Foster has announced. I wouldn’t worry too much. They have it all sorted up in Derry. With intellect like this they will get rid or the ‘borer’ no problem. Unionists will try anything before democracy! They see their majority disappearing, so will agitate for any murder and mayhem to avoid the inevitable role of junior partner! Does it ever occur to unionists that Ulster actually isn’t British- 6 counties of Ulster are British duponline and other 3 are in the Republic of Ireland

263 new cases and 4 deaths in NI as 436,143 vaccinatedAs of Thursday 18 February a total of 466,524 vaccines had been delivered to Northern Ireland, with 436,143 people receiving their first dose. These include many of the most vulnerable Imagine Northern Ireland and their government putting the republic to shame 🤣😂🤣 I wonder will Fine Geal give Sinn Fein any credit for this. They seem to want to blame them when things go wrong in NI So what's that equate to? About 1/3 of population? If we consider that the under 18's haven't been vaccinated either, that's a significant number of the 'at risk' population vaccinated. We haven't even reached 200k 😪 I hope things get ramped up here soon or we can write off 2021
