Featuring four A-listers in the lead roles, the film comes from one of the most acclaimed directors in recent years., the movie comes from writer-director Ari Aster – who earned huge praise in recent years for his films Hereditary, Midsommar and Beau is Afraid.
Co-produced by A24 – who were also behind Aster’s previous features – the company shared an image on its socials, confirming that the project had begun filming. Describing the movie as a “contemporary Western”, they also announced that Clifton Collins Jr , Deirdre O’Connell , Luke Grimes and Micheal Ward are part of the castWelcome to EDDINGTON. Ari Aster’s contemporary western starring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Austin Butler, Deirdre O'Connell, Micheal Ward and Clifton Collins Jr. is coming soon.
The movie will mark a reunion between Phoenix and Aster after last year’s Beau is Afraid and will see Phoenix return to the Western genre following 2018’s well-received The Sisters Brothers .A24 have said Eddington will be available to watch “soon”, with the film most likely to receive a 2025 release.
