Weather experts have just dropped the latest sizzler of a forecast - predicting that parts of the UK could be basking in a glorious heatwave next month, thanks to a subtropical Mediterranean airstream sweeping across the nation.
But it's not such good news for Ireland, with the temperatures expected to peak at 17C on the same date. Met Eireann confirmed the next few days would be a mixed bag of changeable weather with spells of grey skies full of drizzly showers, interspersed with drier and brighter periods as July gets underway. This week will be windy at times too, particularly later on Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures generally below normal for early July, especially in the northwest.
Breezy with a mix of clear spells and scattered showers on Wednesday night, mainly affecting the west and north with largely dry conditions further south and east. Lowest temperatures of 7C to 10C with mostly moderate westerly winds fresh to strong and gusty near coasts.
