The UK faces a "tidal wave" of the Omicron variant of coronavirus and two vaccine doses will not be enough to contain it, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned, as he accelerated the booster rollout programme.
"Everyone eligible aged 18 and over in England will have the chance to get their booster before the New Year," he said. With many of Mr Johnson's own Conservative Party lawmakers set to vote against these measures, the Prime Minister has said there are no plans for further restrictions as cases soar.

They told us at the start that the vaccine would protect us. Now they say we need booster jabs. I do not believe any more of their lies.
No exit strategy, which is the strategy. Endless boosters to make indemnified and publicly funded private vaccine companies ultra rich while obliterating small businesses which will then be gobbled up by conglomerates. Corrupt to the core. Clown world.
Is there any chance NIAC would allow this in Ireland? Some people who got AstraZeneca will be left prone to infection until January unless they do DonnellyStephen CMOIreland KarinaButler15

If a tidal wave is coming and we are where we are with our booster campaign, then our future is not bright. We need to accelerate booster campaign and adopt decisive measures now to prevent a very damaging new year
Can't you just tell that RTE is run by vested interests, most are right wing, biased, and overpaid.
I'm pretty sure there is absolutely no evidence to back that up. This was political deflection after the week he has had, simple as that
Everything Boris says is a lie! If he said not to worry to Omicron and it was nothing to worry about, I'd be genuinely afraid of it!
Has there been 1 single recorded death from the Omicron Variant
Meanwhile in South Africa.
