Drew Harris said there is a well-developed market for bodycams and that concerns expressed about civil liberties have been addressed elsewhere in Europe where they are in use.

Ms McEntee said she has made “no secret” of her wish to return to the justice brief after maternity leave but said it was a decision “above my head” and she expects to find out what will happen at the same time as her ministerial colleagues.

This will potentially be done by Heather Humphreys, who is assuming the justice portfolio for at least the first three weeks of Ms McEntee’s maternity leave. Units moving to the new building include the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation , Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau .

Just give them bloody bod-cams for f.. and stop making a bloody song and dance about it.

Helen McEntee begins maternity leave with Heather Humphreys taking over justice briefJustice Minister Helen McEntee is to begin her maternity leave this evening, with Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys taking over the justice brief until 17 December. Image such an 'important' minister can simply be replaced by Humphreys keeping an eye on McEntee's emails. She doesn't even need a substitute. A cash register in a shop cannot function without an absent staff being replaced at that till, but not so for the Justice Minister. Will that be on full pay What happens on 17th December? With the state of the country, don't tell me they're taking holidays? They've been on f*ucking holidays for the last 11 years
