Some 11 per cent of other households with children and 8.3 per cent of single-person households of retirement age were also more likely to have difficulty making ends meet. Overall, 45 per cent of people in Ireland rated their overall life satisfaction as "very high" in 2018. This was up from 31 per cent on 2012 figures.Between 2014 and 2018, the proportion of school-aged children who reported being happy with their lives at present reduced slightly by less than 2 per cent.
