Minister for European Affairs Helen McEntee says negotiating a trade deal with the UK post-Brexit "essentially in 10 months" will be difficult and challenging.
"However, the idea that we can negotiate a trade deal, one that is comprehensive, one that provides very little change for our citizens, not just in the UK and Ireland, but the EU as well, within about a 12-month space, it's very difficult. "And what we do need to make sure, that in all of the negotiations Ireland's priorities are heard, that the other 26 member states' priorities are heard and that there is a level playing field, that we have a balance of rights and obligations throughout all of this."
"Of course, if we have a free trade agreement, if we have one that is so close and that we do not need checks, then that obviously changes things.
She’ll be negotiating phuck all , she’ll be told to implement what ever Merkel and Macroon tell her , catch yourself on
We're insignificant, Britain and Europe will do what's prosperous and right for them, we'll get the scraps and the politicians will sell it to us as there Golden fleece.
Talk about having a notion of yourself. This will be negotiated by Europe, not Ireland.
Average EU trade deal takes 8 years... the U.K. has less than 11 months
