Stuart Doyle told how his home is now a crime scene after a femur was discovered there

A Dublin musician had to cancel an online lockdown gig at the weekend as murder cops swarmed his home after a human bone as found in his garden wall.

However, as he explained in a Live broadcast on the band's Facebook page, Friday's gig had to be put off after his landlord found a large bone in an old wall at the rear of the property. "It was really very heavy - unlike animal bones you might have picked up when you found them as a kid - so we were fairly certain it was human.

He continued: "When we rang the cops they said it’s not uncommon, but they thought we’d found it in the ground, and that does happen, that you find a 200-year old set of bones and it’s just a case that someone died there, and that’s it. "I have to say though, the gardai showed absolute reverence while they were here. Even though the bone might be over 100 years old, they treated it with respect."

"Some they said were definitely animal bones, but other fragments they had to take away because it looked as though they might also be human." Garda confirmed they are investigating the grid discovery, telling Dublin Live: “Gardai are investigating the discovery of partial human remains at the rear of a residence on the North Circular Road in Dublin 7.
