Stephen Donnelly has spoken about the likelihood of more lockdowns

The Health Minister has said it is "entirely possible" that local lockdowns will be brought in again.

He said: "I really believe that the measures that the public health doctors recommended for Kildare, Laois and Offaly are very nuanced. "And actually we could have been right back to the start again, having to impose really strict measures across the entire country. The new plan will involve us moving through phases based on traffic light colours, red, orange and yellow, along with blue.

The new plan from Mr Donnelly indicates an acceptance from the Minister that the virus isn’t going away anytime soon and that a different approach to the phased roadmap out of lockdown was needed.
