Climate Minister Eamon Ryan has two chiefs of staff and will have up to six further special advisors, it emerged yesterday.The newly-appointed pair will be based in the Department of theThe Dublin Bay South TD was re-elected as party leader last Thursday and he has employed three top aides to help him as Climate Action Minister.
Ministers are usually only able to hire two special advisers, however, since Mr Ryan is over two departments he has decided to increase the expertise around him. Donal Geoghegan, who is one of the Dubliner’s joint chiefs of staff, previously earned more than €94,000 annually as a special adviser to an Independent minister during the last government.
Anna Conlan is the other joint chief of staff and she was the party’s highly-regarded political manager during the previous Dail term.
