Lord of the Dance star Michael Flatley has paid tribute to his late father, Michael Snr, as he launches Flatley Whiskey 'The Dreamer' in his honour.
Commenting on the reason behind the name The Dreamer, Michael said, "With 'The Dreamer', we're distilling the essence of Irish tradition, the dreams that fuel us and the people that inspire us. Crafted in partnership with Ireland's esteemed Master Blender Noel Sweeney and distilled at the Great Northern Distillery, this premium five-year-old whiskey, priced at €45 a bottle, embodies the spirit of dreams, passion, and mastery.
He created a sumptuous wood-panelled whiskey room that has housed barrels of his earlier private blend for more than 25 years. Noel said: "I was truly honoured to work with Michael on this collaboration. He is one of Ireland's most prominent and significant ambassadors, enriching our culture through his promotion of Irish dance and music on a truly global scale, and now through whiskey.
It will be launched internationally over the next few years, with an initial release in the United States planned for later this summer.
