This year's theme is a lot more specific than previous years, In America: An Anthology of Fashion, and is the second part of last year's theme, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.

Kicking it off, co-chairs Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds stepped out as Met Gala royalty, Blake paid homage to New York City, with an Empire State Building inspired copper dress which transformed into a Statue of Liberty gown.As the carpet went on, more and more famous faces appeared. From all five Kardashian-Jenner sisters for the first time ever to the cast of Euphoria, there wasn't a celeb that seemed to be missing.

One of the most memorable looks and moments was when Lizzo brought along a gold flute to play as she walked up the steps.
