Ireland is currently enjoying an early blast of summer weather, as the long-anticipated warm spell has finally arrived.
The welcome weather change comes due to an area of high pressure settling in. High and low pressure systems cause day-to-day changes in Ireland’s conditions. In general, high pressure during the spring and summer tends to bring fine, warm weather that can lead to sunny days and prolonged dry spells. The national forecaster remarked: "High pressure centred over Ireland for the weekend, will shift a little to the northwest for early next week.
Patchy rain can be expected at times on Tuesday and Wednesday, while current indications suggest Thursday could see heavier outbreaks. “Some cloudier conditions at times Tuesday in parts of Connacht and Munster with occasional light rain or drizzle. Drier elsewhere with spells of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 12C to 16C generally, a little cooler near northern parts, with light to moderate north to northwest breezes. Cloud will build across the north and west through Tuesday night with patchy light rain or drizzle following. Dry and mostly clear elsewhere.
