Met Eireann issues 22-hour warning as heavy rain to spark flooding

Met Eireann has issued a 22-hour long rainfall warning as heavy downpours are set to cause flooding in the south. in these counties by Thursday morning.A spokesman said: "Spells of heavy rainfall, 25 to greater than 50 mm.Meanwhile, highest temperatures will range between 14C and 17C in the rest of the country this afternoon.

A forecaster said: "Dry spells with cloud increasing in the north and east this morning, however rain in the south and west will extend northeastwards during the day, reaching Ulster by late afternoon.
