The mini heatwave of just last week saw the country bathe in glorious sunshine accompanied by uncomfortably warm temperatures of 30C - a record for August.
That's according to the national forecaster, who have made their prediction for the weekend and it is fairly brutal.Met Éireann say it "will be a day of sunny spells and scattered showers. Showers will be most frequent in the north and west with the odd heavy one possible. Highest temperatures generally 17 to 21 degrees"
