Met Eireann have confirmed that Ireland is set to see snow this week as "wintry falls" are on the way as temperatures plummet.
But in the short term the areas most likely to see snow are hills and other high points in Ulster and on western coastal areas, as the "wintry falls" are more likely to fall as sleet closer to sea level. "Becoming largely dry tonight with long clear spells but showers will continue over Ulster and in western coastal areas, with the possibility of sleet or snow on higher ground. Lowest temperatures of -1 to 5 degrees with some frost forming in light to moderate northwest winds.
And experts are warning that it could turn "potentially stormy" at times next week, with some "cyclonic winds" expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.
