Mary Black has revealed she lost out on the opportunity of an American number one single because she didn’t want to leave her family.
The highlight of her career came when she got to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London where she says she had a “pinch me” moment before performing in front of over 5,000 people.Describing the moment, she said: “I was delighted she was there, it was very emotional. We both looked at each other in awe.”
“I have had little moments of it but it doesn’t eat into me anymore. It makes you appreciate the good times as well.” Her new album ‘Mary Black Orchestrated’ with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra has just been released.
