Taoiseach Micheál Martin accused the Sinn Féin leader of taking every opportunity to tell 'untruths' after Mary Lou McDonald raised concerns about low-paid workers in the Dáil this afternoon | Read more:

In a strikingly bitter Dáil exchange, Taoiseach Micheál Martin has accused the Sinn Féin leader of taking every opportunity to tell "untruths".

She said there is something very wrong when a Low Pay Commission cannot agree a meaningful wage increase for low paid workers. He said he understood the Irish Congress of Trade Union's reason for pulling out of the Low Pay Commission and hopes they can go back into talks. He said Sinn Féin is the wealthiest party in the house and that some TDs took the full salary despite the party saying they would not.

Mr Martin said he does not believe in the herd immunity approach as not enough is known about the disease. Independent Thomas Pringle says the restrictions on people attending maternity services do not make sense to him. The measures are stressful for expectant mothers and fathers, and are particularly cruel for those receiving a diagnosis. | Read more: https://t.co/bMLfL73o76 pic.twitter.com/uonPAqKii4

Shocked (not shocked) that RTE chose to heavily edit the exchange for last nights news, to exclude succinct observations from the opposition. Here’s the full exchange.

Wrong caption. It should read « Taoiseach Martin fails to explain why 153k workers on 151€ per week are excluded from wage subsidy and why another 159k workers have had their PUP payments cut by 50-100€ while 10 new advisors on 67k€ were appointed to help govt ministers »!

What’s untrue?

fiannafailparty If we had burned the bond holders back in 2012 , as was the mantra of Sinn Fein and others, we now would have difficulty borrowing.

Louise O’Reilly once again showed that she is a classless, uncouth loudmouth who thinks whoever shouts loudest wins.

A pathetic excuse for a Taoiseach speaking to the woman who should be Taoiseach.

MLMcD: We know why this woman isn't Taoiseach: because things would ACTUALLY change.

She should be in charge. Everyone who voted ff/fg should be ashamed of themselves. The contempt they have for the poorest in society is disgraceful

I hope no one is sitting in front of her, the pressure that single button is under looks IMMENSE😬 The force generated from that button finally buckling could nearly kill someone😵

There politicians, you can’t really expect bankable truths from any politician. As a species they are adept at saying what you want to hear and then contracting amnesia when it comes to action. Not to mention the inability to give a straight answer.

So government can't get involved in judges and now this what do they get involved in MichealMartinTD is a joke

She's a terrible whiner. Can't listen to her for more than 30 seconds. She needs a voice coach.

Well it's not really untruths...my friend works for Aldi's...they were given a 10% rice during the start of the plandemic only to have it taken away again...after 3 months...and were told it was just for the 3months...while the price of food has risen...so get your facts right...

Says the fella who would never go into government with Fine Gael 🤔

Both are known liars.
