Former Republic of Ireland defender Mark Lawrenson believes the FAI should target David Moyes for the vacant management position.
With the Irish managerial hunt stretching into its seventh month, former Liverpool star Lawrenson thinks it's time for the FAI to put in a call to Moyes and see whether he would be interested in taking over the Boys in Green. “If I were the FAI, I would be on the phone to David Moyes. A phone call costs nothing – just ring him up!" said Lawrenson.
Many have slammed the treatment of O'Shea, who will take charge of next month's friendlies with Hungary and Portugal. Lawrenson thinks O'Shea has been dealt a bad hand and is hugely critical of the manner which the FAI have gone about looking for a new manager.
