A man who helped jailed two gangland killers has been warned his life is under threat again after he lifted the lid on the murder and life inside the witness protection programme. It told how his testimony put hitmen Brian Kenny and Thomas Hinchon behind bars for shooting dead Jonathan O’Reilly in 2004.
“It’s the first active threat I’ve got in a few years. The last time someone was offered money to try and find where I was staying. I think it’s because I was speaking out, not over the murder, but over the abuse. Hitman Kenny was moved earlier this year to an open prison in Cavan where he is serving out a life sentence for the murder.Joey revealed he bombarded the prison service with pleas not to free the killer.“He was not happy bunny, he has always been very mouthy in prison, always had a lot to say but since the book came out people are seeing him for what he really is.“They didn’t say the reason why he was refused but we believe it was because I rang them every day and the new threat to me.
