Man receives suspended sentence for public indecency in Bray

A Wicklow man who exposed his genitals and masturbated in public on the seafront in Bray has received an 18-month suspended jail sentence. Barry Jones (49) of Ballylug, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow pleaded guilty to a charge of exposure of a sexual nature at Strand Road, Bray , Co Wicklow with the intent of causing fear, distress or alarm in another person on November 14, 2021.

The father of one and self-employed tradesman also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of engaging in masturbation in a public place contrary to Section 45.2 of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 2017 on the same date at the same location.
