Gardai say the man failed to pull over and was hospitalised after his car collided with a tree near the Millennium Business Park in Finglas, north Dublin.
The official Garda Traffic Twitter account shared a photo of the wrecked silver Nissan vehicle, writing: "Not such a Happy St Patrick's Day for this guy! "Gardaí attempted to stop this car, driver having none of it!! He took off and crashed near the Millennium Park business park.A number of serious incidents took place on the roads over the bank holiday weekend.
Two men died in a tragic single-vehicle collision in Carlingford, Co Louth in the early hours of Monday morning and another man died in a five-vehicle pileup on the M6 motorway near Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath on Sunday evening.
