A 40-year-old man has been charged with two counts of deception as part of a garda investigation into events at a post office in Carlow last Friday | Read more:

Declan Haughney, with an address at Pollerton Road in Carlow town, was arrested yesterday and questioned by gardaí investigating the case.

Another man arrested yesterday was later released without charge, with a file due to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
