The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning in Sligo town.Patrol cars were dispatched but the driver failed to stop when approached.
Gardai said the driver was then involved in "numerous" dangerous driving incidents before finally being stopped near the village of Grange, more than 15km away from Sligo town.A garda spokesman said he was charged and is due to appear before the District Court.
