Man, 70s, killed after falling from ladder at Irish home named locally

The man, named locally as Michael Mungovan, was discovered by a neighbour who raised the alarm

It is understood he suffered serious injuries while working at the property in Caherush near Quilty, Co Clare.It’s not known how long he had been lying injured on the ground before he was found.

The helicopter landed at a site in Bishopstown from where the injured man was transported by road ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A postmortem will be carried out and a file will be prepared by gardai for the County Coroner in Cork as that is where Mr Mungovan died passed away.
