The man who suffered stab wounds to the neck after being assaulted in Cork city centre has died in hospital.
He was rushed to Cork University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and remained in critical condition until he passed away on Friday.A man, aged in his 20s, is before the courts charged with assault causing harm. He appeared before Cork District Court on Friday. In a statement following the incident, a spokesperson for Gardaí said: "Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this assault to come forward.
