Stephen Kenny could recall Séamus Coleman for Ireland's final Euro 2024 qualifier against the Netherlands. The 52-year-old's fate will be decided by FAI chiefs after the clash with the Dutch in Amsterdam on Saturday week and the friendly against New Zealand at the Aviva Stadium on Monday, November 20.
Coleman, 35, has made two appearances for Everton's under-21s over the past five days after recovering from a medial ligament injury that he suffered at the start of May.“What he’s done in the game, and what he’s done at Everton. We were lucky to have him for a couple of training sessions and we had him on Saturday for the game."It’s golden for our lads to be spending time with him, seeing how he prepares and seeing how committed he is. It’s been unbelievable to have him with us.
The Donegal man's last Ireland appearance came in March, in the 1-0 qualifier defeat to France in Dublin and he has been sidelined for six internationals since then - two victories and four defeats. But an ankle injury Moran suffered in Latvia put paid to that - and to the 20-year-old's hopes of a senior call-up for the Gibraltar game that followed.
