Major emergency operation after car plunges off pier in Irish tourist town

A woman was lucky to escape serious injuries after her car entered the water off a pier in Co Cork today.Gardai, ambulance crews and a unit from the local fire brigade arrived at the scene and managed to free the woman from the car.However, she is not believed to have suffered serious injuries.A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "A woman in her 40s was rescued from the water near Kinsale Harbour this morning at 11.15am after her car entered the water.

"She was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. No life threatening injuries were reported."
