But People Before Profit want a guarantee the PUP will be paid for as long as people are out of work because of Covid.
Minister for Public Expenditure, Michael McGrath, gave a clear indication that the Government is moving to cut the PUP sometime after the end of June, admitting they would be “changed” after that. He told the Irish Mirror: “I think as an absolute minimum the Covid supports should be maintained to the end of the year, and in particular for sectors who are likely to suffer a longer term impact as a result of Covid.
