A lucky Lotto syndicate got their weekend off to a flying start by collecting a cool €10.2m at Lotto HQ on Friday.
The happy punters hit the jackpot on a lucky ticket purchased in Spar on O’Connell Street in Dublin city centre for the Lotto draw on February 23.A spokesperson for the winning syndicate declared: “This is a fantastic day for our family. We are thrilled at this win and at the fact that it can be shared amongst us all. It will be life-changing.“On Sunday morning I got the ticket and checked the numbers. I couldn’t believe it, so I double checked on teletext.
“I still wasn’t convinced so I rang one of the family and got them to check the numbers. We were all numb!”“We have no major plans for the winnings yet but we will have a quiet family celebration and will plan a break away together.”Our Irish Mirror Sports Page - which brings you all your Irish and UK sports news - can be found here. The Irish Mirror Twitter account is @IrishMirror while our sports page is @MirrorSportIE.
