Leo Varadkar believes it will be 'very difficult' for the UK to secure a Brexit deal by next week

TAOISEACH LEO VARADKAR spoke to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson this evening.“Both sides strongly reiterated their desire to reach a Brexit deal. They hope to meet in person later this week.”

There are a lot of countries, for example, including our own where there’s a degree of parliamentary scrutiny. So timelines are tight. But speaking on RTÉ News at 9pm, Varadkar was less optimistic, saying that he believed it would be “very difficult” to secure a deal by next week. Downing Street sources claimed German chancellor Angela Merkel had made clear that an agreement was now “overwhelmingly unlikely”.

Meanwhile, Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney said a UK government willing to work with the EU is needed to finalise a Brexit deal.

LeoVaradkar also believes the housing crisis will just go away if you don't look at it for long enough, so who are we to believe?

A NI limited time backstop extendable by IRE paying €15bn subventions for a minimum of say 20 yrs will not get my vote. Rebranding NI into a Swiss canton is rose tinted clover but a good dream. Mergers are never equal or w/o angst. Leo clear some field stones and build bridges.

It'd be easier dealing with the mafia than the E.U. Shame on our government for bending over sideways. How long have they had?
