Using school profiling as part of this year's Leaving Cert grading would be 'completely unfair' on students, Labour's AodhanORiordain says.

, Deputy Ó Ríordáin - who is calling for a hybrid Leaving Cert in 2022 - said school profiling is still not an acceptable approach.

“It’s completely unfair for an individual student who may be studying in a school of disadvantage or a school with limited subject choice. He said a decision is now needed, as students have lost significant amounts of class time over the last two years and teacher absences due to COVID continue to disrupt learning.

"Because they didn’t sit the junior cert - through absolutely no fault of their own - they would be disadvantaged.”

Leaving Cert: Giving students choice 'not very sensible', principal says | NewstalkGiving students a choice in the Leaving Cert is 'not very sensible', principal says. TheHardShoulder TheHardShoulder Not caring about their choice is not very sensible. Grade inflation can be reduced if teachers just be sensible about the work students done in the past 2 years. They’re average result should automatically be the predicted grade teachers set and the department review it. Simple Sure why don't they just show the students the papers a few months before the exams. When they're at it let them also take in their book into the exam hall and allow all students for confer throughout the exam. Heaven forbid they'd be put under any undue pressure.

COVID cert changes: Eoghan Corry on the new EU travel rules | Newstalk“Before COVID, we travelled with a boarding pass and passport. You now need a boarding pass, a passport, your Digital Cert and a locator form.” Wow that is some insight Eoghan. It doesn't make it right though. Only a fool wouldn't acknowledge that such restrictions on travel make not even the slightest difference to the epidemiological situation. Even the WHO are catching on to that. Pcr test and another on arrival.. Wow, I never knew any of this. Granted I've been living in a cave on fuckin' Mars !!!!
