Laura Woods has said there is no harm to take a step back sometimes so you can see where you are in life as she reflects on leaving Ireland AM one year on.Her priorities have changed and she is enjoying taking life at a slow pace, as well as parenting her sons Ben and Alex.

She added: "We are probably conditioned as humans to put our head down, go to school, learn our trade and then work, work, work. I am taking life at a slightly slower pace. "People always say that the days are long, but the years are short, and they really are. It doesn’t feel like I have a 12 year old, I still look at him and see my baby."
