Labour leader Alan Kelly has said the “condescending nature” in which women affected by CervicalCheck scandal were spoken to has started to creep back in.
The group had asked that the tribunal be non-adversarial and also raised concerns around the statute of limitations, believing women should be allowed return if their cancer comes back or their health significantly deteriorates. Mr Kelly acknowledged Dr Gabriel Scally, author of the inquiry into CervicalCheck, and said what he “admired” in his first report was “the way he called out the attitude of a minority of clinicians”.
