Kate Garraway 'desperate for step forward' after 'tough visit' to Derek Draper

Kate Garraway has given another update on her husband's fight against the effects of Covid-19 after an emotional visit to hospital on Monday evening.

She revealed it was "extra emotional" because it was their son Billy's birthday, and she had been thinking about when Billy was born and that Derek was present, but he was unable to be there now. Derek's recovery will be a slow process as the virus has "attacked everything", leaving him with clots in his lungs, holes in his heart and made him diabetic, and doctors have warned Kate that Derek might never recover from the damage done to his body.
