Kasabian's Tom Meighan in court today for alleged assault after quitting band

Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan is set to appear in court today, just hours after stepping down from the band.Yesterday, the Leicester rock band released a statement on Twitter announcing that singer Tom was leaving due to "personal issues" and that it was a "mutual" decision."Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track.

"I'm in a really good place now. Thanks for all your love and support. I'll be seeing you all very soon. TM x." Tom attempted to start a string of feuds by making scathing comments, including branding The Strokes' Julian Casablancas "a posh f***ing skier" and The Libertines' Pete Doherty a "f**king tramp".
