Joy as Sligo University Hospital coffee shop sells winning €195K EuroMillions ticket - but player was agonisingly close to scooping €64m jackpot

A coffee shop in Sligo University Hospital is celebrating after selling a €195,042 winning EuroMillions ticket, but the player was agonisingly close to scooping the €64million jackpot.

It's the second time this week that a player in Ireland came close to winning the jackpot, after another player in Co Cavan took home the secondary prize of €265,150 in Tuesday night’s draw. She said: “I’m absolutely speechless this morning thinking that somebody in Sligo hospital is nearly €200,000 richer because they bought a lottery ticket from our coffee dock yesterday.

"Due to Covid-19, visiting restrictions remain in place at the hospital so there is a big possibility that this lucky winner is a member of staff.
