GAA,Limerick GAA,Munster Senior Hurling Championship

It was subtely delivered but it was a comment the top players and managers will have taken note of.

John Kiely made one very pointed comment after Limerick’s recent Munster round robin victory over Waterford.

In a nutshell, he said Limerick’s trajectory was upwards, and at this stage of the season they are ahead of where they were at the same time last year.At the same stage as they met Waterford this year, Limerick came close to exiting the Munster and All-Ireland championships at the hands of Cork in the final game of the round robin.

“Our average performance level is up and up a nice little bit. I’m delighted with that - and our trajectory is upwards as well. In the middle of that Kiely quote, referring to performance levels is the phrase, they’re “up a nice little bit.”

Could tomorrow be the last we see of Kiely or Fitzgerald on the sideline? It’s difficult to imagine Kiely, whenever he finishes with Limerick, pitching up somewhere else, while you’d wonder where Fitzgerald could go after completing four stints in three different counties. That’s if he wanted to.
