Image: Dominic Lipinski THE DUP HAS said that it cannot support Prime Minister Theresa May’s latest Brexit deal tonight, making it less likely that the Withdrawal Agreement will pass in the House of Commons.
Deputy leader and MP, Nigel Dodds tweeted the party’s current position, adding: “Sufficient progress has NOT been achieved at this time.” However in our view sufficient progress has not been achieved at this time. “Having carefully considered the published material as well as measuring what has been achieved against our own fundamental tests, namely the impact of the backstop on the constitutional and economic integrity of the Union of the United Kingdom, it is clear that the risks remain that the UK would be unable to lawfully exit the backstop were it to be activated.
Time for a General Election. Hopefully a party will gain a good working majority so it can't be held to ransom by a tiny group with a vested interest.
Are we surprised by this - Ulster says NO! God I wish the DUP would leave the dark ages!
That was the last chance, parliament will take control now and hopefully a GE will see a functioning government come to the fore.
