Israel releases Irish music video mixed with October 7th attacks

The video, which has Irish music as its soundtrack, begins with a tricolour and cuts to a Hamas gunman, followed by images of panicked Israel is fleeing Re'im music festival.Throughout, the video is captioned ‘ HAMAS : THANKS IRELAND’ and at regular intervals cuts to images of an Irish dancer.

The video was posted on X/Twitter by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz who tagged Taoiseach Simon Harris in it. “Ireland, if your goal was to reward terrorism by declaring support for a Palestinian state, you’ve achieved it,” he wrote“That applies to every State that we recognise around the world.Ambassador Erlich told Pat Kenny that she would return to Israel to discuss “possible steps and the future of our relations” with Ireland.

“When I came to Ireland eight or nine months ago, I was very optimistic about the different collaborations that we can broaden,” she said. “I'm still optimistic that we can do it, but we need to address right now a worrying trend of anti-Israeli initiatives that we see here in Ireland and the rise of antisemitism.”
