One area of the country in particular faced plummeting temperatures

Irish weather can turn in an instant, hence our propensity for always having both sun glasses and an umbrella in our cars or bags at all times.

Alan Reilly from Carlow Weather alerted his following of the minus degrees temperature, some of the coldest weather we have seen after the summer. "A fresh morning after a chilly night and Mountdillon in Roscommon has dropped below 0c with a low of -0.3c this morning," Alan said. There will be a mixed back of conditions in the coming days, with rain sunny spells and fog all present.
