A shocked Dublin man who took an eerie photo at Powerscourt just seconds before a tragic teen's death has described the panic among daytrippers after hearing "something big hit the water".
It is understood that Lewis slipped and fell when climbing the 121-metre waterfall which led to his untimely death and also saw his friend getting into difficulty. And a spine-chilling picture given to Dublin Live shows a now shaken visitor who was sitting on the nearest rock to the waterfall when the tragic accident took place.
"First I thought it was a big rock since it smashed pretty hard into the water but then I had a proper look and saw a body. "We didn’t think anyone would go up that high since it’s slippery enough on the rocks at the bottom. So, I can’t imagine how slippery it is up there. Coleraine Grammar Principal David Carruthers said: "The whole school community is devastated to hear of the tragic death of Lewis Fleming on holiday in Co. Wicklow, which Gardai are treating as an accident.
