The number of people employed in the information and communication sector in Ireland fell by 4.6% in December, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office ( CSO ). This decline is part of a global trend , with many tech companies reducing their Irish headcounts.
However, overall employment in the country rose by 1.8% in 2021.
