Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Catherine Martin has said she is “hopeful” that nightclubs can reopen in February.

However, she said “we have to go with public health advice but I am still hopeful” about the easing of restrictions next month.Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has said the lifting of current restrictions will be lifted on a phased approach throughout next month. The changes bring an end to the five day isolation period for fully vaccinated close contacts who do not have any Covid-19 symptoms.

Close contacts who have not received a booster vaccine will have to restrict their movements for seven days.
