Longford mum whose son Danny McGee died in one-punch attack hits out as killer released after 11 weeks

A grieving mum whose son died in a one-punch attack has hit out at his killer’s release in the US after serving just 11 weeks in jail.

The Irishman, with an address at 42nd Street in Queens, was sentenced to six months for killing 21-year-old Danny McGee, from Co Longford, in the unprovoked attack. “Obviously, it was distressing to hear he was being released, however, I do believe some day justice will catch up with him.” She said if the legislation is adopted it will ensure “Danny’s death has not been in vain”. She added: “If it can help one family from going through the utter“It has destroyed so many people’s lives, it’s hard to explain the grief“A person’s impulsive actions to act out physically with a sucker punch leaves pain and suffering that will never end for so many.
