An endurance athlete has kayaked the length of the River Shannon in a bid to raise much needed funds for charities.

“It was a fully self-contained trip so I had to carry a tent, sleeping bag, food and cooking equipment with me on the kayak, and I slept on the shores of The Shannon at dedicated spots on the route.” “The feelings of utter isolation, loneliness and solitude during the more remote areas was like nothing I had ever experienced in my life, there were only so many podcasts you could listen to, and that was hard.
