“If you are working on the Bank Holiday you can get either an extra days pay, or an extra days holidays or a paid day off within the next four weeks”. Speaking of holidays, Richard said he is often asked about whether the employer can tell the employee when they can take their annual leave. As for the statutory days, an employer can decide when you take your holidays, but only after they have a discussion with you or your union to take your family circumstances into account.
